WEEK 3 OVERVIEW

Post  sports writer on Wed May 21, 2008 11:07 am

What do you get when you have two firemen and a guy that installs sprinklers on your team ? A HOSING! Gentlemen.... team 5 came to play last night and boy did they get rewarded for their efforts. John Sullivan, who previously had beaten an opponent 17-1 (2005, verse Bob Rowan) did the unthinkable.... spanking, I mean SPANKING his opponent 18-ZIP ! Antonelli, Cronin and Curran pitched in with 12, 11, and 10 points repectivley. Rumors on the street today are that since Sullivan left his duties as computer guru and is concentrating strictly on his game, he's heading towards the best year he's ever had. ( editors note: several players on other teams seemed a little annoyed as they watched Sullivan strutting down the fairway doing his Red Aubach impersonation with a big cigar in his mouth )

Congratulations to Paul McLeod who for the second week in a row nailed closest to the pin. He saves his best swing for the $$$$ hole.

The Maguire family, led by Doug Sr. had a very mediocre performance as a whole. I might adjust my pre season prediction on brother Davids team going the distance. I am not ready to do that yet, although I would like to see David play with a white ball. There's something about yellow and pink that just doesn't seem right. I think it's affecting his whole team . Or maybe he has the computer syndrome.... the one that Sullivan had!!!!
Next week tends to be heating up for some great competition. I am told that the handicaps will be opened up and some players could be getting or giving big time strokes.

Good luck
