Proposal: Point Standings Average vs. Total

Another proposal submitted:

Losing the league championship due to a week off is unfortunate, but there are alternatives. What if you could miss a few weeks and still be eligible for the league/flight championship? Min play 13 weeks, and use the average, not the total points?

Sorry, I should have specified - individual standings. Yes you are correct that the team is protected against an absentee, but the individual is not. One missed week could cost an individual first place in a close race.
